After having followed this very comprehensive course about VMware Workstation Pro, you will be able to create very complex virtualized test environments (whether it's server virtualization with Windows Server or Linux and/or client PCs on Windows or Linux).
Indeed, this course covers all the features, special cases and even common problems that you might one day encounter with this "VMware Workstation Pro" virtualization solution.

To begin, you will learn how to install VMware Workstation Pro on Linux, but also if you try to install the version 15.5.5 or 15.5.6 on Windows 7 (which is problematic by default).

Then, you will learn how to :

  • create virtual machines by installing them manually or automatically (via Easy Install)
  • save the state of a virtual machine to easily restore it
  • clone virtual machines to avoid reinstalling Windows or Linux too often (for example)
  • install the VMware Tools (drivers) on Linux, Windows and Windows Server (including in Core mode)
  • manage network access to use virtual networks or connect your virtual machines into your physical router
  • secure a virtual machine thanks in particular to encryption and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
  • configure the BIOS to manage the boot order and boot from an USB key (if you want)

Once you learn this, you will see how to export and import virtual machines (including from VirtualBox), as well as learn about the features offered by VMware Workstation Pro and VMware Tools :

  • file transfer and built-in folder sharing
  • printing documents and images from virtual machines
  • integration of virtualized applications into the user interface of the host PC
  • sharing Bluetooth devices by virtualizing the Bluetooth adapter of your physical PC (if applicable)
  • and more

Finally, you will find valuable information about :

  • special cases : cohabitation of Hyper-V with VMware Workstation Pro, use of a USB 3.0/3.1 controller with a virtual machine on Windows 7, ...
  • known issues and how to fix or avoid them
  • all settings available in VMware Workstation Pro, as well as for virtual machines
  • virtualization of a physical PC (P2V)

At the end of this course, you will find information about the new features offered by the new version 16 of VMware Workstation Pro.
