Through this course, you will learn to create and effectively manage a virtual infrastructure based on VMware vSphere 6.7. Through a series of practical tutorials, you will discover how to install, configure, and optimize your virtual environment to meet the needs of your organization.
1. Installation and Configuration of vCenter Server
In this section, you will learn how to install vCenter Server with an integrated database or SQL Server, deploy the vCenter Server Appliance (VCSA), and even deploy VCSA under VMware Workstation Pro. You will also learn to move the VCSA VM to VMware Workstation Pro and access the VCSA console (if necessary). These skills are essential for establishing a solid foundation for your virtual infrastructure.
2. Management of Virtual Machines
This section focuses on the creation and effective management of virtual machines. You will learn to create Linux and Windows virtual machines, use different consoles to manage VMs, change the default console, and manage your VMs from the web client. You will also discover how to install and use the VMRC console, create VM snapshots, configure their settings, and add resources on the fly.
3. Resource Management and Security
In this part, you will explore how to create and manage inventory in vCenter Server, secure access to vCenter Server (VCSA) via HTTPS, and even via SSH. You will learn to manage roles, users, and permissions to ensure secure management of your virtual resources.
4. Services and Integration
This section guides you in managing vCenter Server services under Windows Server and VCSA. You will learn to enable SSH under VCSA, manage files via WinSCP, and integrate your infrastructure with Active Directory by adding an identity source and synchronizing clocks via NTP. You will also discover how to join vCenter Server and the hypervisor to an Active Directory domain.
5. Monitoring and Optimization
In this section, you will learn to create and manage alarms and tags to monitor your infrastructure. You will discover how to manage tasks and events, and customize the user interface. You will also explore Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM) and how to secure access to VCSA in a multi-site infrastructure.
