To manage your virtual machines from a VMware vCenter Server (or VCSA), you can use the native web console or connect to it with VMware Remote Console (VMRC).
To get started, download VMware Remote Console (VMRC) for Windows or Linux.
However, note that you must be logged in to your VMware account to be able to download this program.
If you don't have a VMware account, create one for free and log in with it.
Note: to install VMware Remote Console (VMRC) on Linux, refer to our tutorial: VMware ESXi 6.7 - Install and use the VMRC console on Linux.
Then, come back to this page and click on the desired "Download now" button.
If you are not currently signed in to your VMware account, a login page will appear.
Log in with your VMware account and click the link provided previously again.
Now a download window will appear (depending on the web browser used).
The proposed file will be similar to this: VMware-VMRC-12.0.1-18113358.zip.
Unzip the downloaded "VMware-VMRC-12.0.1-18113358.zip" file and run the exe file found there.
The "VMware Remote Console" logo appears.
As well as a small "Installation of VMware products" window at the bottom right of the screen.
The VMware Remote Console configuration wizard appears.
Nothing complicated, just do "Next" at each step.
Click Install.
The installation is complete.
Now, refer to the "VMRC Console (VMware Remote Console)" step of our tutorial "VMware vSphere 6.7 - Consoles to manage VMs" to open the console of your virtual machine using VMware Remote Console (VMRC).
The VMware Remote Console program appears with your virtual machine's console.
