Enable the dark color theme of vSphere Client on VMware vSphere 6.7

As VMware has already done for its VMware Workstation Pro virtualization solution, VMware also offers a dark theme for the VMware vSphere Client (available under VMware vCenter Server).

  1. Enable VMware vSphere Client dark theme
  2. Return to the VMware vSphere Client light theme

1. Enable VMware vSphere Client dark theme

By default, the VMware vSphere Client uses the light theme you already know.

To use the dark theme on this VMware client, simply click on your username (top right of the page), then click: Switch Theme.

The VMware vSphere Client appears with the dark theme.
However, as VMware tells you, the plugins from VMware and its partners are still being updated for this new dark theme and so there may be some display issues if you decide to upgrade now to this dark theme.
Don't panic, you can return to the light theme just as quickly via the same menu.

Plain Text

vSphere Client plugins (including VMware and Partner plugins) are still being upgraded to the new dark theme. Expect some plugins to exhibit visual inconsistencies.

Here is a preview of the dark theme for your VMware ESXi hosts summary.

Preview dark theme for virtual switch (vSwitch) management.

2. Return to the VMware vSphere Client light theme

To return to the light theme for the VMware vSphere Client, simply click on your username at the top of the page again, then click: Switch Theme.

The VMware vSphere Client reappears with the light theme.
