Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) allow you to centralize as much information as possible, including authentication information, group policies (GPO), ...
The Active Directory being an implementation of the LDAP directory system on Windows operating systems.

These Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) are used in the majority of companies and thus allow administrators to centralize :

  • user accounts, as well as their user profile data (roaming profile)
  • security policies and configuration to apply on many computers
  • computer accounts that identify each domain controller, server, or client computer on your network
  • the list of network shares and/or printers available in your company
  • and more

With Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), you will also be able to deploy multiple AD domain controllers so that your users can log on faster, no matter what country they are in.

In this course, you will learn :

  • the theory needed to understand how Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) works
  • how to deploy Active Directory domain controllers in different scenarios (new domain, same domain, read-only, ...)
  • how to create group policy objects (GPOs), manage administrative templates, manage specific cases (slow link, ...) and much more
  • diagnose the application of group policies (GPO) from a domain controller or from a client computer
  • manage FSMO roles and force their transfer in the event of a domain controller failure
  • create delegations of control and trust relationships between Active Directory forests or domains

Finally, you will see how to deploy a multi-site Active Directory infrastructure step by step with domain controllers located in 2 different countries.
