If you don't have the latest version of Windows 10, you will need to install an older version of the driver for your Broadcom MegaRAID controller (or keep the even older driver installed by Windows by default).
To download an older version of the driver for your Broadcom MegaRAID controller, go to the "Archive" tab and locate your specific version of Windows in the "OS" column.
In our case, we are running Windows 10 21H2. So, we downloaded version "7.24 (7.724.02.00)".
Once the file is downloaded, unzip it.
As you can see, a "Password_Important.txt" file is present in this folder.
The goal is that you read the warning there before installing the driver found in the compressed file "Windows drivers.7z".
As noted in this text file, starting with version "7.12" of the MegaRAID (MegaSas35.sys) and HBA (ItSas35.sys) drivers for Windows 10 and Windows Server, Microsoft's security patches are enabled.
So you need to make sure that the "KB4482887" update has been installed on your computer BEFORE installing/updating the driver for your Broadcom MegaRAID controller.
Otherwise, your computer may crash.
Warning : the password for the compressed file is the phrase "I have read..." (with the final "." included).
Update KB4482887 is available from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
In our case, we will install the driver for: Win10_21H2_Client_x64.
In this folder, you will only find the driver files (INF configuration file, the driver itself in SYS format, ...).
Although you can install the driver by simply right-clicking "Install" on the configuration file (MegaSas35.inf), this time we will install it through the device manager.
In File Explorer, right-click "Manage" on "This PC".
Go to "Device Manager" (in the left column), then expand the "Storage controllers" section.
Next, right-click "Update driver" on the "Broadcom MegaRAID SAS Aero Card" device.
Click: Browse my computer for driver software.
Click "Browse" and select the driver folder corresponding to your version of Windows.
Then, click Next.
Wait while the driver installs.
The driver for your Broadcom controller (in our case: MegaRAID 9560-8i) has been installed.
Click Close.
After installing this driver, Windows will ask you to restart your computer.
Click Yes.
Your device name has changed and the name now matches the specific model of your Broadcom MegaRAID controller.
If you view the properties of this device and go to the "Driver" tab, you will see that the installed driver is newer than the one installed by default by Windows 10 (which was from 2018).
