Adaptec RAID

Adaptec is a brand of professional RAID controllers created by PMC Sierra that has been purchased by Microsemi Corporation.

Their RAID controllers have a dedicated memory (unlike those integrated in motherboards) and are compatible with the SAS (for servers) or SATA (for individuals computers) standards.

These controllers can even provide 6 Gb/s flow rates via the PCI Express (PCIe) port.

To manage your RAID controller (locally or remotely), you will need to install the Adaptec MaxView Storage Manager software provided for free by Adaptec that will allow you to manage it from a web interface.
