VMware ESXi

VMware ESXi (formerly VMware ESX) is a bare-metal hypervisor that installs directly on hardware (and not as software as is the case with VMware Workstation, for example).

With VMware ESXi (part of the VMware vSphere package), you can :

  • consolidate your servers to better use their resources : processor, RAM, hard drive, ...
  • reduce your expenses by purchasing a high-performance physical server instead of several servers
  • centralize the management of your servers (since they will be virtual and not physical)
