Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2008 is the server version of Windows Vista and was created in 2008 by Microsoft.

Among the new features available since Windows Server 2008, you will find :

• the addition of the Core mode allowing to install Windows Server with only the minimum. In other words, the server can be managed only on the command line and/or remotely with the required consoles (RSAT).
• the addition of certificate services for Active Directy. To create a certification authority and generate certificates for your intranet yourself.
• the addition of BitLocker Drive Encryption which, as its name suggests, allows you to encrypt a hard drive
• improvement of the Windows Server firewall
• improvement of Terminal Server services (TSE) by notably supporting version 6.0 of the RDP protocol (remote desktop)
• the addition of Microsoft's Hyper-V hypervisor
